Normally I wouldn’t include a forum in the Showcase section - most of them look too much alike and all do basically the same thing. But I thought I’d add Messenger Plus! Live Help to the list.

This site is probably one of the largest communities using MyBB. The sites stats (as of February 17, 2008) are:

Our members have made a total of 380598 posts in 40208 threads.
We currently have 73014 members registered.
The most users online at one time was 1636 on 06-24-2006 at 11:54 PM.

And there were 280 active users at that time.

Throng is one of those sites where you look at it and say, “Can Drupal really do that?” It’s a tv-guide-like site for New Zealand with a community component build in. It seems that the community page is using the Views module to aggregate posts in different topics.

Hobgoblin.net is a community site for writers that’s powered by Xoops. Users can post blog entries and forum comments. Other features include polls, news, event calendars, and weblinks.

BabyQuestions101 articles are built on WordPress' category system with many child categories (as seen in the sidebar.)

To add to the community nature of the site, bbPress is used. And it’s actually used well here.
